[Fed-Talk] CAC email issue

I am having an annoying little issue with my CAC/thunderbird interface. The issue is such: If I remove my CAC, use fast user switching to go back to the login screen to "lock" my machine then relogin using my CAC the first email I try to send will fail (I have digital signature by default) after getting the error message if I remove my CAC and reinsert it then send the mail it will ask for my pin and send the mail. I know that using FUS is not secure, but I like to use it this way. I would have assumed that after relogging in using my CAC that thunderbird would be able to reaccess the CAC after entering the pin, but it doesn't unless I remove/reinsert the card while the user environment is active. Just wondering if this is by design, or just a odd little buggy thing.
