I'm not sure if this will solve your problem but I wanted to bring it up
anyway since that seems like a real odd use of FUS. Have you thought about
locking the screen by using the screensaver? I just blank the screen and
require authentication to unlock, I activate it with either my cell phone
using an app with bluetooth proximity or a hot corner which activates my
screensaver.
