The more things change, the more they stay the same. Would like any
insights, please.
Our DOIM had a failing server and decided to move MSExchange mail
accounts
to a new one, also on another domain (but within the same AD).
I was using MSEntourage to connect to the old server using IMAP
settings.
The Exchange version they are using is still last-gen (5.x?) not the
newer
"Exchange 2000".
The new domain is an AD and I am successfully connecting to this
domain
using "Admit Mac". I have full access to any and all shared folders
on the
domain servers.
I cannot connect to the moved mailbox. The server admins tell me
that no
changes have been made for IMAP settings -- they are identical to the
old
settings. The only thing that changed is the server name/IPA.
The error message I get is: "The server for <account> returned the
error "a
required privelege is not held by the client.." Your
username/password or
security settings may be incorrect."
The username, password is correct; so I have tried every combination
of
security settings possible (secure password, SSL, secure password &
SSL,
etc). No connect.
I also cannot make the connection with Mac Mail with even less
instructive
error messages.
I can set up an MSOutlook Exchange client on VPC (running Win-XP) no
problem. I have also successfully set up MSOutlook on a Wintel box to
connect with using only IMAP settings -- BUT -- I did have to insure
that
"Secure Password Authentication" was checked (but not SSL) for it to
work.
[I had tried checking only the "use secure password" as one of the
Entourage
options without success.]
Of course the DOIM says, "like to help, but sounds like an Apple OS
problem
and we only work on windows."
As stated at the top, would like any thoughts for either what
would/should
be the right settings on my machine; or something I can take to my
DOIM to
check on their system. I have other Army IMAP accounts and really
need to
consolidate all mail into the same or related local folders.

Has anyone heard of the Joint mission planning software PFPS (Portable
Flight Planning Software), sometimes better known by the name of it's
most
used application: FalconView?
Is so, does any one know of any efforts of the DOD or Georgia Tech to
develop this for other operating systems? I had heard around 2001
that
there was work going in to developing this mapping software and
excellent
C.O.P. Toolset for the Palm OS, for handheld applications. I would
hope that
someone can justify (or help me justify) initiating a push for
development
of this fine program on the Mac OSX.
As I would bet that many on this list do not know or care about
FalconView,
if you see this and DO know or care about it, please respond to me
out of
forum. Thanks in advance...
Joel

Anyone have a suggestion on how to import my contact list from
Entourage on
my Mac to Outlook 2003 on a PC?
What I tried was to create a .vcf file for each contact in Entourage
and
then selected import a VCARD file in Outlook.
At this point I get ³ The specified file is not valid for this
operation².
Thanks
