As of a few minutes ago the Techcon (2003-005b)
stating that Macs are NOT permitted to join the AD is still listed as current.
It gives DOIMS the ultimate sayso as to connecting to the networks at all but
not AD.

AD
There is a techcon notice stating Macs are indeed
allowed.
Another Army IT document provides
instructions detailing step by step configuration for inserting a Mac in the
AD.
BUT
The techon I reference also gives local DOIM(s) the
ultimate sayso.
If you search the archives here, you'll find the
details of the fight I had.
In the meantime, I'll root around
and find the dates/document names/sources I know are somewhere on my HD.

Subject: [Fed-Talk] Macs and AD
Has the Army OFFICIALLY (as in some document
somewhere) stated that Macs with Tiger can be connected to the AD network? My
IM folks say they haven't received anything saying this is okay, and I'm tired
of not being able to do so. I know it can be done. But my folks won't allow me
until the Army officially says it's okay. Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks,
Doug
