Greetings,
Now that I got my ActivCard reader working (thanks to recent posts), I've
managed to set up digital signatures in Entourage--with one caveat. No joy
on encryptions, though.
I'm posting these steps in case someone else needs them and in case someone
else has an easier way.
Here are the steps I followed to get digital signatures to work:
1 Download certificate install software (InstallRoot V2.0) from:
https://www.conus-tnosc.army.mil/ (Link found on AKO)
2 Run InstallRoot V2.0 on Virtual PC with Windows XP.
3 Use Internet Explorer (on VPC) to export certificates (root and
intermediate) to a Shared Folder.
4 Insert CAC into reader.
5 Import certificates from the Shared Folder and CAC into Keychain Access
utility. (X509 Anchors root; CAC Certificate to Login & MS Entity;
Intermediates to MS Intermediates)
6 Set DOD root certificates as trusted using Keychain Access utility.
7 Quit Keychain Access.
8 Start up Entourage.
9 In Entourage, open Account Settings for my AKO account.
10 In the Security tab for my AKO account, select my individual cert from
my CAC as the signing certificate.
11 Try to select my individual cert as the encryption certificate, but it
doesn¹t show up in the drop down. No encryption certificate possible.
12 Send a test email with digital signature. The email is signed, but
shows up at the destination with the message: The digital ID¹s e-mail
address does not match the sender. View Details.¹
13 When I click on View Details¹ there is no e-mail address listed for
the sender¹s email, just the 'sent from' address.
Questions:
- Is it possible to use Entourage for email encryption?
- Where is the my 'sender's email address' stored and how can it be updated?
Regards,
Dave
