I recently procured a SCR243 PCMCIA card reader for my PB but have not been able to read my CAC card.
I suspect that the reason is as stated below.

How does one get pcscd to start automatically?
Any other tips for getting the SCR243 to work efficiently with 10.4.3 would also be appreciated.

Dave

Hi all,

I've been doing some researches on this list, and have found Shawn's
write-ups really helpful in getting my CAC working on 10.4.2.

My question is, though, why doesn't pcscd starts automatically whenever
the CAC is inserted (I am using a SCM SCR243 PCMCIA on my PowerBook)? I
read it somewhere that securityd is supposed to starts pcscd whenever the
card is inserted, but mine doesn't do that and I always have to start pcscd
manually as root. But as soon as pcscd has started, then my CAC shows up
on Keychain.

Is there something I need to do to get pcscd start automatically?

Thanks for your help!!

Frank
