[Fed-Talk] Mail pop timeouts

I realize that OS X Mail is designed for average users on average mail servers but for us the pop timeout in OS X Mail is too short.

Some of our users run fairly large mail boxes on the local server, especially if they have been on travel and 60 MB attachments are not uncommon here.

OS X Mail can't retrieve the mail from our server if the mailbox exceeds about 400-500 MB. For example, right now one mail box is 590 MB and OS X Mail can't do a thing with it.

Mozilla, Eudora, and MS Lookout either continue working at this point and/or have adjustable timeouts. This makes OS X look bad.

Even a tech note with a reference to a preference setting via the terminal would solve our problems.

Michael
