I haven't checked on the details yet on this specific service but why can't
I have my computer outputting to my TV to play these shows just like to do
now with other videos (DVDs, streaming, etc.)?
Related to recent discussions I've been involved with on the Quicktime
mailing lists, one driving reason to use WMP10 over other solutions
(including QT) is the robust DRM you get with MS. Given the requirements to
control the use of content and provide a solution meeting most of the mass
market I can't argue with someone choosing Windows Media.
Regarding the question of H.264 vs. WMV, simply saying that isn't accurate
because the codec is just one aspect of a solution to deliver video to end
users. The delivery of that codec, the protections around it
(confidentiality/DRM), and the access mechanisms for the stream are all
important and not answered by simply H.264 vs. WMV.
