I still remain stunned regarding the back pedaling that Microsoft did on
Virtual PC. I spoke, briefly, to Roz Ho at WWDC last year and she seemed
excited about the product and she specifically indicated how much faster VPC
would be on an Intel Mac.
Virtual PC has a great feature to help protect against the dangerous
virus/malware/spyware that can invade the windows environment, specifically
it offers undo drives. It can be configured to ask you each time you shut
down the virtual PC, if you want to discard all changes made to local
drives.. If you think you were hit by a virus you just shut down the
virtual machine and discard all changes and flash back to your known good
state.
I hope that whatever virtualization package makes it to the head of the pack
offers a similar feature.
