Hmm...I'll have to look into that. I've been a bit wary of Wine as a
result of stories I've heard about problems with certain applications
making use of OLE/ActiveX. That's the real catch: many seemingly
innocuous applications rely on OLE to implement the GUI.

If the application really has "nothing to do with Windows", then
something like WINE might be a better solution than a virtual machine.
WINE doesn't need the whole OS. And, I think I saw that the open source
community is now working on a WINE port for Apple, since the Apple OS is
now running on an Intel processor. (In true recursive GNU fashion, WINE
