Shawn,
I'm still using Tiger (10.4.11) and things are fine with my SCR
reader. I'm waiting to upgrade to Leopard until things like this
issue are resolved. Any idea as to when the SCR problem will be
fixed. I think I know the answer, but maybe I'm wrong.
Thanks,
Richard

I followed the threads of success and failure of CAC on Leopard

Jerry,
The issue that folks initially raised was related to a failure to
be able to access the CAC at all on Mac OS X 10.5.x with their
particular Smart Card and Smart Card Reader. Note that if the
Smart Card does not appear in the Keychain Access utility as a
dynamic keychain, the Reader/Card combination is not being
recognized by the system.
From everyone I have received info from, it is isolated to the
combination of the following Readers and Card:
Reader(s):
____________
Manufacturer: SCM Microsystems Inc.
Firmware Version: 5.18 or higher
Vendor ID: 0x04e6 SCM Microsystems Inc.
Product ID: 0xe001 "SCM SCR x31 USB Smart Card
Reader"
-or- Product ID: 0x5116 "SCM SCR 3310 USB Smart Card Reader"
-or- Product ID: 0x511d "SCM SCR 3311 USB Smart Card Reader"
Smart Card Type:
____________
Type: Oberthur ID One v5.2
There is no work-a-round for this particular issue other than using
a different Reader until this is fixed -- which is not possible for
many people on this list.
