You will need to use Safari if you are using a CAC card to login to government sites.

We have single Intel Macbook computer in a Windows environment. It is
connected to the internet through a proxy server, and it will connect to
non secure sites as long as we use our regular sign on and password.
But, we need this computer to connect to secured sites via government
CAC cards.
When I first received the Mac last year, I tried to set it up using a
Gemplus CAC reader without success. So I downloaded their lasted drivers
and installed them, but found out they were compiled for the G5. I then
got a SCR331 reader and flashed it according to instructions. I followed
the instructions on setting up the for Mac CAC use, but I cannot get it
to read a CAC.
What do you suggest I do?
