A firewall will not stop virii.
Symantec has a licensing agreement with the Army such that as long as
you take work home, your local network support people should be able to
provide you a copy of Symantec AV Corporate (10.x.x) (at no cost).
Further, logon to AKO and do a search for "microsoft home use"
The link will tranfer you out to...monmouth, I think.
Fill out a form (use your AKO address), make note of the program ID
number.
You'll be sent a link to a MS site. There you can purchase a number of
MS programs (including Office 2004) for 19.95 + $1 shipping. Yes, 20.95
for a full version of Office 2004 for Mac. Office 2008 should appear
once it becomes available.
If you also have a windows box, you can also get Office 2007 Enterprise
for the same price.
If you can't find it, contact me off list and I'll send you the links.

Subject: [Fed-Talk] Antivirus Question
I'm new to Macs, new to the list, and getting a Macbook Pro for my home.
Is there a requirement to run antivirus programs (Symantec, etc.) on our
home Macs to keep from passing virii to our work machines or is the
firewall I already have installed at home good enough?
Thanks.
Paul
