Fed Talk,
With the update to 10.5.4, my CAC is now recognized by my SCR331 reader and the card shows up in my keychain. My ability to digitally sign emails in MacMail has also been restored. However, I cannot send nor receive encrypted messages.
I have imported the SystemCACertificates and the SystemRootCertificates into my keychain following Shawn's advice. I also registered my CAC with AKO account using a Dell PC since I could not perform this action with Safari nor Firefox.
I tried again to log into AKO using Safari and then Firefox, to no avail. The prompt I get when pushing the button for CAC login is a dialog box with "To view this page, you need to log in to area “cac- reg” on akocac.us.army.mil:443" and a request for name and password. Following the directions on the AKO website or using my AKO login does not achieve a response except for repeated requests for the same information.
Following the Apple support page regarding changes in client certificate authentication, I decided to manually specify a client certificate. However, when I go to the keychain to "My Certificates", there are no certificates.
What have I not done or not done correctly? I am using a 3 GHz dual core Xeon with 1 Gb memory.
Regards,
Completely confused.
