Yes. I have a 2GHz G5 with 4 internal drives and it works fine. Mine
was a home-made job. I looked into that bracket that you can buy, but
it was too expensive.
I bought a two port SATA card from OWC, then bought a molex to dual SATA
power plug and a dual molex plug off ebay for about $10 total . I use
the power going to the optical drive. I put the dual molex plug there
to split power between the optical drive and my two extra internals.
Then the dual SATA power plug obviously goes on the other molex plug.
The two drives are sitting vertically under the optical drive, right up
against the front grille of the machine. The "sides" of the drives are
right up against the grille, and I use screws to secure them to the
front. It actually doesn't look too bad. Then I put little rubber feet
on the "bottom" of the drives (almost on the floor of the inside of the
machine) to keep them from vibrating. I've used this setup for over a
year with no issues. The internal temperature of my machine is usually
right around 150F, which is within normal operating temperatures.

Does anyone know how to evaluate whether a power supply in a G5/2ghz DP
has enough "oomph" to handle 4 internal disk drives?
