This sounds like a 'reasonable accommodation' issue. If your agency
can't/won't accommodate you, then the federal Computer/Electronic
Accommodations Program (CAP)(http://www.tricare.mil/cap/) can.

I've tried. As I think I mentioned on this list before, or one like
it,
I have accessibility issues reading on Windows. A Mac would be
tremendously helpful for me because it is so much more accessible (I
know because I have my MacBook Pro at home). But they say no. I
can
even read web pages over my Iphone (I'm the one who told the Chaplain to
get one which is why I feel responsible if he can't access AKO) easier
than over my work computer because I can enlarge them as large as I need
to read them, word by word if necessary on the Iphone but must lean
forward into the screen to see it on the work computer. A Mac Book
Pro
would allow me to have a computer I could use plus one that someone else
could use if anything happens to me rather than expensive accessibility
equipment that no one else might ever use.
