Paul,
Your angle of using the Mac OS X built-in accessibility software is a plus.
The lower configuration MacBook Pros in the 13" and 15" range are comparable
to PC laptops and in build quality better in most ways. As far as being
tough enough to take a drop, get a good bag.
You may want to do a TCO for a PC and Mac build with accessibility hardware
and software included with cost break down. You already have training on the
platform and the accessibility software functions and capabilities.
