Historically (20 years plus) Apple has released system x, supported x-1, pulled the plug on system x-2.
Snow Leopard is slightly different as it is being positioned as a cousin to Leopard. Sets a new precedence in releases. Another characteristic is that 10.5 is end of life for PowerPC support.
But they did set the version to 10.6 and the smart money is betting 10.4 support will be out for a long walk on a short pier. Time to say a fond farewell to Tiger or so is my prediction. V/R, Wm. Cerniuk 703.594.7616

Does anyone know, or can point me in the right direction to find out, how long Apple provides security patches for a system? The new one that came out still patches 10.4.11 so that's good, but I'd like to know when I can give 10.4 the "unsupported and unauthorized" rubber stamp.
Thanks
