Hello all. I'm new to this list and I was so excited to find it!
I'm a contractor working at a federal facility for DLA. We are
currently using the gov computers and have to maintain our @dla.mil
email accounts. However, I would like to transition over to using our
own Mac computers because 1) I like Mac better and 2) I don't like
the handcuffs put on me by using someone elses equipment/intranet
system.
I've got my own internet access so we won't be on their "system" but
I'm having difficulty finding anyone willing to help me out with
this. Anytime I ask anything related to this, the local I.T. folks
tell me "it can't be done". I'm sure they mean they can't do it - not
that it's not possible. But I get zero support from them.
What is the process for accessing my DLA email from my mac using my
own internet connection? Also - what about encryption? Do I need a
CAC card reader and will it work on a mac?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
