One of my users is reporting that 10.6.2's Mail program can't read a lot of his DoD encrypted emails and in some cases crashes Mail.
He says "Now I cannot reply to many (may be all) encrypted emails. I'm able to receive encrypted emails from all except David, who is the one whose emails you reviewed. I can receive and decrypt encrypted emails from others, but Mail crashes when I reply to their encrypted emails. However, I'm able to send them new (not replies) encrypted emails and reply to their unencrypted emails."
I previously examined his emails from David and the ones that he could not read had the one of the recipients duplicated, the ones he could read did not. I know Mail refuses to duplicate a recipient so I can't reproduce that condition. Those problem emails came from Exchange which I don't have so I can't reproduce the problem with a nonsensitive email so I have nothing to send to Apple for a bug report.
If there is something wrong with his computer I don't know where to start without wiping out everything, even a reinstall is a waste of my time until I'm sure this is not a bug in 10.6.2 (given I know about other reproducible bugs in Mail regarding DoD CAC cards and their separate certificates at this point I have to assume this a just another Mail bug).
Michael
