Apple will not "kill" OS X Server, unless they want to kill nearly all non-consumer markets along with it. And those markets are massive for Apple right now, whether Apple is primarily a consumer company or not.
It's also not *just* a license change, as there are still a few technical things and Xserve-defocusing that would need to be done to really make a possible virtualized Lion Server a reality. Right now, that's my hope.
