No experience running McAfee and FileVault. But I have seen situations
where the encrypted home folder sparse image becomes disassociated from
the user's account. I have also seen Disk Warrior solve the problem.

Concur w/ Rich, have seen same and other issues with McAfee and using
disk images.
Have not had time to run down but McAfee is famous for issues. :-(,
especially draining laptop batteries.
