Title: Re: [Fed-Talk] Cross-Post: Recommended Reading - Steve Jobs (Unabridged)
Paul,
I will add this recommendation for anyone considering graduate studies in business, engineering, computer science or design. This book should be mandatory reading. Steve Job’s experiences and education transcended multiple disciplines to change the industry for the better. For those that remember, there was a biography on SJ that is now out of print called “The Journey is the Reward”, which is also excellent reading.
I think the most interesting thing is that SJ wanted everyone to know that he did make mistakes and he was not perfect. He had many regrets and he might not have been the best person. He and his team made incredible sacrifices to bring us the technology that we have today.

This is probably "preaching to the choir" but if you haven't read it yet I highly recommend reading the Isaacson biography of Steve Jobs. In fact, I recommend getting the audio version because the reader even has a way of sounding like Jobs and gets some subtlety across in the reading that I don't think would come across in print. There is literally something for everyone, from simply being a well-written book to a primer for techies, innovators and knowledge managers to a simple character study of a complex individual. Whatever you thought of him, this will get you thinking in a new way. And the most important thought to remembere is that he was a billionaire genius and innovator. But he couldn't stave off death. He left a legacy, good or ill, to his family and the world. What is yours?
