I completed the entire suite of upgrades yesterday (10.7.2 everything, iOS5 on an iPhone 3GS, iCloud migration, and AppleTV update). It took time and everything finally worked but this morning I'm one of those iCloud users who can't get to their mail. My password keeps getting rejected and their error shows server problems so I'll just give it some time to calm down. Apple is limiting the number of migrations (support website), which obviously means a ton of people are already moving to iCloud.
I believe I only had to run the iOS5 update once but it took longer than usual to download. Complete installation took 20-30 minutes because it had to reload apps and music. I'm running fine and my photo syncing test worked. Mail was working fine yesterday and through the night so it must be those east coast people hammering the servers this morning that's messing things up (just kidding).
As for testing, I'm sure they did but there's no way to test a million users all trying to access the software and upgrade at the same time. I'm surprised these problems haven't hit the airwaves, at least I haven't seen any.

I was especially excited by the "speak highlighted text" addition though it only works for emails and not iBooks or Kindle books (may the person who made that decision enjoy low vision to share that frustration.) It uses that awful Voice Over voice which seems like such a stupid choice. And it would be nice if the notifications could be set larger so I could read them. Otherwise, nice touches. :0)
My 6 month old iPod did not upgrade properly (purchased directly from Apple). I'm too scared to try my iPad (the last three updates from Apple on my MacBook and iPod have had problems). I sure wish Apple would fully test this stuff. I feel like I'm paying for beta software at times. No Christmas bonus for the QA team.... Jeff
