If you can't use a wireless keyboard, there's no reason you can't use a
third party USB keyboard. I'm typing this on a Microsoft keyboard connected
to a MacBook Pro (which is also connected to a Dell monitor and a Dell
mouse). I prefer the ergonomic-type keyboards anyway. I still have an Apple
Adjustable Keyboard in storage at home.

Microsoft even includes software that includes the option to swap the Alt
(Option) and Windows (Apple/Command) keys so that the Alt key functions as
the Apple/Command key and the Windows key functions as the Option key, so
that the keys are in their traditional locations for people used to Apple
keyboards.
