I have seen the most ridiculous coverage of this on my local news, Fox 5 Washington DC. They were claiming Apple had a major security breach that could affect everybody with an iPhone. It was one of those "tune in after the break" scare-you-out-of-your-pants treatments of the story. I don't think local news should even try to cover tech stories until they're at least a week old and somebody in the blogosphere has translated them into something simple enough for the talking heads to comprehend.
