I can confirm same behavior and error on a 10.11.6 Mac using Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.17, Adobe Reader 11.0.17 and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 15.017.20050. However the CAC signing succeeds on a Mac running 10.11.5 and any Acrobat or Reader. We use Centrify to facilitate CAC operations.

I click the field to sign and am able to select a certificate and enter PIN. Then I get an error:

"Error encountered while signing:

The credential selected for signing is invalid”

I normally use CACkey but tried removing it and installing SmartCardServices, that didn’t make a difference. My CAC is working normally with Safari and Mail.
