As in the Leopard betas, the ZFS implementation is read-only.
However, when it runs, and in the man pages, is this message:
ZFS on OSX is implemented as a readonly filesystem by default.
This means that only the ZFS subcommands that do non write
operations are permitted. Permitted subcommands are
list, iostat, status, online, offline, scrub, import, and
history.
A full ZFS implementation that allows all subcommands and
is read/write is available for download at http://
developer.apple.com/.
Searching the dev pages turns up no hits for "zfs", and there's
nothing in the online membership that I can see that turns up
anything.
Anybody know more?
If you were an Apple Select or Premier Developer you might know more.
If you're interested in ZFS (r/w) I'd suggest this avenue. Beyond
that NDA prohibits anyone from saying much more. Read that as a big
hint.
