I asked a few months back I asked whether it was possible in Tiger
to register protocols, so that the Finder 'connect to server'

that the NDA has been lifted, does anyone know whether this has
changed in Leopard?
A lot of the mechanics described in Q&A 1387 has changed in 10.5 but,
alas, the final conclusion has not. It is still not possible for a
third party VFS plug-in to integrate with either manual mounting (the
Connect to Server dialog) or browsing (now in the Finder's side bar).
I will update Q&A 1387 at some point, but right now I've got many
other Leopard fish to fry!

If you can get me information about why and where you want to
integrate (either post it or, if privacy is a concern, email it to me
directly), I will add your details to the appropriate bugs.
