open with O_EVTONLY on remote volumes preventing file writes?

Not sure if this is a new issue in 10.6 or not. I just started hearing bug reports on this since 10.6.1 I think, but can't be sure. Same behavior in 10.6.2.

I open a file using O_EVTONLY to use with kqueues. If it's a remote volume, that file will fail if a another application tries to modify that file. Works fine for local volumes.

Is this a known issue or a bug or what?
