Hello, How does the Apple installer go about deciding whether it is upgrading an existing installation or installing a new one? I am having trouble on one test machine where the installer says it is doing an upgrade but on which I have deleted everything that I install including the file in receipts. There is no problem on the other test machines. Only difference with this machine is that the OS X is installed on an external firewire drive.
