There is no built in support for installing into ~/. Check the

The workaround I use is to install in /tmp, and use a postflight
script to copy it to the right location. It is really just an mv, but
I will gladly share it
As for Admin permissions, since you are an admin, it allows for
installation, if your user was not it would ask for authentication.
My problem is, that for a non-admin user, the Installer tries to
install the receipt into /Library/Receipts but fails - due to
permission issues.
Maybe the answer to this problem is somewhere in the archives -- I am
unable to find it. If someone has a pointer I would appreciate it.
And in my case, I would hate if I had to really ask the user for
admin privs.

I am using PackageMaker 2.0.1 (120)
I am having several problems:
If I try to specify "~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/" as the
Default Location
in the Configuration screen, it puts the files in /~/Library/
Internet
Plug-Ins where the ~ is the actual tilda character, and is not
replaced by
the current user's home. This seems contrary to what I am
reading should
happen.
If the package is installed, and I re-run the installer with a
newer made
installer package (to check installation changes) the files in
the destination
to not get overwritten with the new ones in the new package. I
am not
changing the version. How can it be made to overwrite?
during testing, I was putting the files into /Library/Internet
Plug-Ins
and specifing that Administrator authentication be used, but the
installer
never asked for a password. what gives? my current user is
allowed to
administer the computer, and for all other things administrata is
asked for
password.
