Pax isn't the compression but the file format. The packages are compressed using gzip. At this time only gzip is supported.

Hi,
Is it possible to make the Apple Installer use a different compression system than pax? The reason for this is that we have a game in progress which packs onto one CD - but only if 7zip compression is used.
