Hello Nathan (and all),
An easy way to get past this is to put the drag-and-drop file on a disk image .. also on the disk image should be a symbolic link to /Applications. You can put text in the background to say "Drag this from here to here" and even draw arrows or whatever you would like. At any rate, the "drag to symbolic-link-to-Applications" is pretty simple.
