Thanks Philip. Actually I build my application
against SDK 10.2.8 because it is the only SDK I shipped with XCode 2.x for Jaguar. I’m not
pretty sure whether my application needs to support all major version of Jaguar,
if so, do I have to get SDK 10.2.0? But anyway, I have to get an old Mac. A
little painful, compare to the PC world where I can install Window 3.11 on P4
dual-core.

It appears that the iMac G5 requires 10.3.5 or later. Macs pretty much
always require the latest version of the OS available at their time of
introduction. The information on each Mac model provided at <http://www.apple-history.com/>
includes (in the Miscellaneous section) the minimum supported OS version. It
looks like most of the G4 Macs supported at least some version of 10.2.x,
though not necessarily 10.2.0, and some can handle 9.2.2 or later. I think that
most developers, when supporting an old OS, prefer to only officially support
the newest free update of that major version, i.e. 10.2.8 in this case, unless
some special circumstance dictates otherwise.
