I could go about it that way…but the ultimate goal is to get an AppleScript building inside packagemaker.   So I thought I’d start with something small and simple and once I got that working go from there.  Ultimately I want something that displays a user dialog and thought AppleScript would be the easiest solution.

So I guess a better question would be how to get an osascript working inside packagemaker?

Why not simply make a bash script "killall Safari"?  I've never tried invoking osascript inside a pre/postflight script.

Best wishes,

Scott

I have a preflight script in my Resource directory.  It is named preflight and contains one simple line of code.

osascript –e ‘tell application “Safari” to quit’

This script executes fine from a terminal window but breaks packagemaker.   I checked the permissions on the script and it seems to be correct and read/write on every user (777).  Is there a trick to getting this script to work inside packagemaker?  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!
