1. Open PackageMaker.app

2. Select Distribution Project (Tiger and above)

3. Click OK

4. Drag and drop your required package into the Sample Choice folder (in the Distribution Details list)

5. Select the Sample Choice folder

6. Change its title to the name you want to appear in the Customize pane

7. Double-click the "start_enabled" value code value in the Scripts list

8. Set the new value to false

9. Change the other settings to match the following configuration:

    start_selected true
    start_enabled false
    start_visible true
    selected true
    enabled false
    visible true

10. Click on the (+) button at the bottom of the window

11. Drag and drop your first optional package into the New Choice 1 folder

12. Change the name of New Choice 1 to what you wish

13. Set the Scripts value for this folder to:

    start_selected true
    start_enabled true
    start_visible true
    selected "leave untouched"
    enabled "leave untouched"
    visible "leave untouched"

14. repeat the process for the other optional package

15. Build

The customization pane should work as you described (at least it is on my Mac).

You may then customize the UI or group the optional package into one choice or make the required package invisble, etc.

Hi,

1) By "distribution", do you mean you want to use a distribution script?

When you select <new project> in package maker the last option is <Distribution Project - Tiger and above> 10.4.9 Package maker 2.1.1

2) What is your minimum OS requirement for deployment?
10.4.x

Hi,

10.4.9

package maker - distribution project - required package / choice

How do I install my required packages? I have one pkg which is required and 4 optional / choices.

I am unable to find how to set the required pkg.

2 questions:

1) By "distribution", do you mean you want to use a distribution script?

2) What is your minimum OS requirement for deployment?
