- Thread-topic: Do I need to run a preupgrade script for in situ upgrades?
Hello all,
I am running PackageMaker 3.0.1, creating a bundle type package that is
aimed at System 10.4 or later.
If I install from yesterday's package (we are building and packaging daily
at this point) on a clean machine, and then install today's build directly
on top of yesterday's installation, am I correct in the belief that the
installer application will replace the older files with the newer ones from
today's build of the installer without the use of any type of preupgrade
script to remove the older files from the system first?
I currently AM using a preupgrade script in this manner, and it is not
running, and I am wondering if I am over-thinking this process a bit....
Thanks for any and all assistance on this matter!
Regards,
Steve O'Sullivan
