As a cross-platform developer, I feel compelled to point out where I

I'd never dream of apologizing for the state of any of Apple's
development tools--complaining about them more often than using them
got me fired from Apple after all--but given the amount of time they

those resources even thinner to make everything backward compatible
for a tiny handful of self-proclaimed gadflies who fancy themselves

everybody else.
Perhaps you can elaborate as to what amazing new feature 10.5's
Installer has brought that you simply cannot live without in 10.4? I
haven't found any of them to be terribly important, and many of them
seem to be quite horribly broken to boot.
