Hello,
I'm working with Macs in an enterprise environment, and as the number of Macs we support grows, we're trying to find ways to streamline our support and maintenance. One thing we are trying to do is package up software installations and updates with PackageMaker so they can be easily deployed via Apple Remote Desktop.
There is one problem that is setting us back with the upgrade packages. As our program has evolved, on some computers software was installed in different locations. I've written a script to quickly find the folder location where a particular piece of software is currently installed; however, I've been unable to find in the documentation a way to translate the result of that script into a change in the install destination for a package. Does there exist a way to do this?
(We are currently still using Tiger, so I would need to use PackageMaker 2 to do this)
