Hi Scott,
When I set a destination for a component (10.5-based install package), and save the packagemaker pmdoc, it looks fine.
But, when I reopen, the "Destination" field goes blank...no matter where I set the destination to.
I'm also seeing this with PackageMaker 3.0.2 (174) and it's driving me nuts …
Does someone have an idea how to work around this? I'd really appreciate any help …
There is a bug on the state of this field not being saved presently. You should be able to work around it by checking the "Allow Custom Location" field but that of course turns on that option.
I see. Does checking this option mean that a user will be able to choose an arbitrary destination path on their disk? In this case this hint won't work for me because my package has to be deployed to a subfolder of /usr/local … it basically contains CLI tools that need to be accessed by all users. In any case, is there a chance for this bug to be fixed soon?
Thanks for your answer,
Oliver
I would recommend filing a bug report. I submitted a bug report with the ID #6085497
I really hope Apple will fix this bug soon.
