Hi ALL,
To uninstall an application from Tiger, Leopard I usually remove app's
folders,
other specific files if any and a copy of app installation package from
"/Library/Receipts" folder. It allows Installer to INSTALL same application
once again (preinstall & postinstall scripts are running).
So Installer chooses INSTALL, not UPGRADE procedure.
On Snow Leopard I cannot force Installer to forget previous installation of
an app.
I've found a file "/Library/Receipts/InstallHistory.plist" and even removed
dictionary
that contains info regarding my app previous installation (it seems to be
used on
Snow Leopard instead of bunch of installation packages in Receipts folder
on previous versions of MacOS X). Removal of mentioned record (dict)
about my installation package from InstallHistory.plist has not led to
desired result.
So every time I run installation package Installer chooses UPGRADE instead
of
INSTALL.
Snow Leopard documentation regarding Installer has not given any idea.
Does anybody have an idea how to force Installer to forget my application?
I'll appreciate any idea,
- Alexander
