Doe this issue occur if the package is outside of the affected user's home directory? For example, if the package is copied to /Users/ Shared, and run from there, does the issue occur?

Yes. The issue is the Installer gets disassociated from the plugins. But, is this something new or is this an old issue? It's a pretty significant bug because it kills the install.

Is there a known workaround for this? Is Apple planning a fix for this? How long has this bug been in existence? Thanks, - tz

What is going on with FileVault and PackageMaker [installer] plugins? It appears that any PackageMaker installer with a plugin breaks when FileVault is turned on.

You get the error "Please insert the disc to continue installation" and you can't install.

Does anyone know the history and the future of this? Thanks, - tz

IIRC, Installer Plugins are copied into a temporary folder (in some cases?) during installation.

It could be the origin of this issue.
