That was one of my 1st ideas, though I looked at Quicktime's infoplist
I'll try and look at the TextEdit one too just in case.

It might be worth checking the TextEdit sample code in /Developer/
Examples/AppKit. Since this is a Cocoa document-based application and
it deals with numerous file format, its Info.plist could be
enlightening.
Sometimes you need to logout and login for changes to be taken into
account at this level.
