Hi. I've got an unusual situation and I'm trying to figure out if PackageMaker is even capable of doing what I need.

My installer needs to check at runtime for other packages that should be installed and needs to allow the user the choice of whether to install these other packages.

If it weren't for the requirement of showing the user a gui to allow them to choose which optional packages would get installed, this would be very easy to do from a postflight script.

Is this possible in PackageMaker at all? I'm thinking no, but maybe I'm missing some feature?

It is possible. This is what the Custom Install mode is all about.
