When folders or apps (which are folders) are dragged into Packages, they can't be expanded. Not sure why, it would be great to have this capability.
I saw this happen in the past, figured it was due to the *.app permissions. After I correctly set the owner:group on the app, I pulled it into Packages and I made sure I left this checkbox unchecked. This way Packages can properly set owner:group.

You can also select the app in Packages and set owner:group, permissions, etc., and trickle downward.
Packages is a pretty awesome app, hoping to see template capability at some point in the future. :)
