I think Apple's documentation is lying. Yes, `man xar` has mentions of LZMA support, but on my Mountain Lion machine:
% xar -caf Flash.pkg foo
Error while creating archive:(foo/Bom): lzma support not compiled in. (Undefined error: 0)
So the support seems more theoretical than actual.
