Howdy,
Try Linux on PPC, e.g. SuSE Linux PowerPC EDITION 7.3 it does include
Netatalk and runs on Macs.
This way you could 'come back' to ASIP (or MacOS X Server) on the same
server hardware (iMac?) as soon as your budget exists again.
