I'm not having this problem. I just turned Web Sharing in the Sharing
Preferences panel and with IE I can get at my local home page with
either
http://localhost/ or
http://127.0.0.1/.
Are you rather having problems between Classic and the native X side?

Hi,
I'm pretty sure I remember some note on this list recently
about IP loopback addresses not working when using the Open
Transport shim within a OS X Carbon-CFM application. Of course,
the list archive search mechanism is down at the moment :-(

so I can't search for this topic.
I'm trying to communicate between an UNIX OS X application
and a Carbon-CFM application on the same machine. I can
successfully send UDP packets from the UNIX app to the CFM app.
I can also successfully send packets to to the UNIX app
from the same UNIX app. However, when I try to send packets
from the CFM app to the UNIX app, via either the loopback
address (127.0.0.1) or the machine's actual IP addresss, the
UNIX app never sees the packets. These apps are running on
OS X 10.1.2.
Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround?
