IMO, IC is one of the best ideas I've seen yet for the Mac, and I hope
it sticks around for a long, long time.
From what I recall, early versions of Outlook Express used IC
*exclusively*, cramming all kinds of various settings into it (and at
that time, they were adhering to the IC API devoutly). At that time, and
I could be wrong here, they were the *only* developer not using their
own scheme (in addition to IC in most cases). If they've since changed
their methods, that's not good. I would invite every net app developer
to look into IC and learn how it works. It will save the user many
headaches and will make your app much more 'friendly' towards other apps.
And if you ever need any help with IC, feel free to add me to your list
of people who don't mind being bugged about it. I applaud the vision
behind IC, and wish other aspects of the MacOS were as easy to work with.
Sinc,
-Chilton Webb
